List Key Personnel
Did you know that Members have the ability to update Key Personnel” for their company? PLUS, add your key personnel to the on-line Directory!
The Administrator for your Membership has the ability to update the personnel information for your company at any time. This process is vital to ensuring that your information is always accurate and up-to-date, because no one knows your business better than you.
Additionally, your Administrator should update the Key Personnel often. If an employee leaves your company, your Administrator should remove them from your Key Personnel immediately so their username and password cannot be used to access COOL from outside your company. Similarly, when new employees start, adding them to your account will facilitate a smooth transition for them to access COOL.
ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE, now available to our Members, your Administrator can add ALL KEY PERSONNEL directly to your ON-LINE DIRECTORY Listing!!! This will reach thousands of Members and non-members using this directory!
Steps to update your Key Personnel:
- Log In to COOL
- Click Continue at the bottom of BX Messages
- Click on My Desk Pad
- Click on Edit Co Personnel
(To update information for employees who are already listed click on their name)
- Fill out the correct information for the employee
IMPORTANT: To show personnel in the On-Line Membership Directory complete Web Order (list numbers for appearance order, ex. 01, 02, etc). The On-Line Directory will include all of the information that you fill in for each employee, therefore, if you do not want to publicize their e-mail, leave this blank!
- Click Insert (or Reset if they were already listed).
- Contact Valarie at the BX, 1.866.499.COOL with the employee’s username / password for COOL if applicable.

Specific Tips for Setting Up Your Search
Construction Categories:
If you select multi-family & residential, you should set this up as a separate filter (due to a difference in the bidding process between commercial and residential projects).
Counties & States:
Select counties OR states, BUT NOT BOTH (the search will fail if both are selected)
If a pop-up” box does not appear when you are working with counties and states, you must disable the BLOCK POP-UPS” with your internet provider.
Estimated Cost:
If you select a specific dollar value range, some projects give a range for a total estimate, if the dollar amount specified in the search falls within the project range that project will be included in your search.
Keywords:
If using an acronym, enter the acronym as one keyword and spell out the acronym as one keyword.
If using combined words” or compound words,” for example sitework,” enter sitework” as one keyword and site work” as a separate keyword.
Always search for singular keywords, not plural keywords, for example pump” NOT pumps”.
If you are searching for Design Build” projects, enter Design” only as a keyword search.
Not sure what to enter for your search? Enter a few words from your trade into the keyword fields, save and name the search. Then, check out the specification of the projects in new search/filter and then modify by adding new words.
CSI Master Format Number Search:
Search for projects by division - for example if you are searching for Division 16 enter 16*” in the CSI Number field.
NOTE: The CSI search will only gather projects using the 5-digit codes, design firms using the 7-digit codes will be located by setting up a keyword filter.
