Improperly operated rough terrain forklifts on your jobsite can result in a fatality. This 4-hour, "train the trainer", program is designed to provide the skills to effectively train your forklift operators in accordance with the applicable OSHA regulations of 29 CFR 1910.178. A sample written "Safe Forklift Operator Program" will be provided to each attendee to customize for their company safety program. In addition to covering the basic training requirements, this course will provide insight on effective training skills to promote learning by your students.

This competent person level training is focused on educating the participant to evaluate powered platform exposures in the construction environment, select the correct equipment, train the employees, and conduct OSHA-required inspections in the field. The hazards from overhead electrical lines will also be addressed. OSHA’s 29 CFR 1926.453 & 454 regulations will be provided and utilized during the class. A sample written Powered Platform Safety Program will be provided to each attendee.

Significant penalties await those contractors found to be in non-compliance with EPA’s new lead rules when working in pre-1978 structures. Common renovation activities like sanding, cutting, and demolition can create hazardous lead dust and chips by disturbing lead-based paint, which can be harmful to adults and children.

To protect against this risk, on April 22, 2008, EPA issued a rule requiring the use of lead-safe practices and other actions aimed at preventing lead poisoning. Under the rule, beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities and schools built before 1978 MUST BE CERTIFIED and must follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. Get your certification and protect yourself under these new guidelines.

Who Should Attend: ANY ONE who will be providing renovation, repair and/or painting services in a pre-1978 structure.
