This week in construction history:
On July 9, 1357 Emperor Charles IV assisted in laying the foundation for the Charles Bridge in Prague. One of the world’s oldest and most famous bridges, the Charles bridge was once the only means to cross the river Vltava, making Prague an important trade route between Eastern and Western Europe.
