Mid Atlantic BX reports 13,501 regional construction projects in 2011 01/25/2012
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mid Atlantic BX (MABX) director of project information Trisha Mays announced that the MABX project information team reported 13,501 regional commercial construction projects in 2011. The total is down from 13,603 projects reported in 2010.
“Our plan room activity in 2011 reflected the overall commercial construction industry in 2011, which faced a slight decrease in activity from 2010,” Chad Harvey, secretary to the MABX Board of Directors said.
According to Mays, the project information team reported 5,198 civic projects in 2011, the most of any project type. Other 2011 highlights include: 2,527 educational projects, 1,351 roadwork projects, 959 department of transportation projects, 659 waste, water and power plant projects, and 576 sewer and water lines.
MABX gathers comprehensive construction project information from sources in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Northern Maryland. Although the MABX staff actively pursues project information on a daily basis, not all commercial construction projects in the region are provided to MABX.
MABX members have access to COOL (Construction Opportunities Online), a comprehensive construction reporting service for the Mid-Atlantic region. It offers MABX members real-time access to new construction projects from throughout the Mid-Atlantic Region.
COOL is an internet-based construction reporting service that includes current projects out for bid, blueprints, specifications, addenda, bidders lists and other details about the projects listed. MABX members can search for and track construction projects relevant to their businesses. The program allows users to set up filters based on geography, project type, funding type (public or private), construction categories and keywords pertaining to the products or services they provide.
